This December, Stephen Wade Auto Center is embracing the season of giving by donating funds to support local efforts to help alleviate homelessness and to help at risk youth in Washington County. We’ve set a goal to raise $20,000 to give to local charities Switchpoint, Youth Futures, Washington County School District Foundation, and Washington County Children's Justice Center.
We invite you to join our efforts. When you purchase a vehicle at one of Stephen Wade’s seven dealerships, including Mercedes-Benz of St. George, a portion of the proceeds from those sales will go to support these charities. Buy from Stephen Wade, give back to our community.
About the Charities We've Pledged to Support
Switchpoint Community Resource Center
The mission of the Switchpoint Community Resource Center is “to empower those in need by addressing the underlying cause of poverty; providing a comprehensive plan, and supporting their journey to self-sufficiency.”
Switchpoint provides much more than just food and shelter to the homeless.
They offer an individualized approach to helping their clients and offer a wide range of assistance to people in need. They provide access to computers, classes, a thrift store on site, doggy day care, and a community garden along with access to the fruits and vegetables it produces.
Switchpoint Community Resource Center also takes a variety of resources available throughout the community and coordinates between different entities to offer more comprehensive help to the homeless and those struggling with poverty. With help from community partners, including charities like United Way Dixie, the Dove Center, and the Salvation Army, as well as governmental agencies such as the Department of Workforce Services, the Department of Motor Vehicles, and Washington County School District, Switchpoint can proudly say that as a community they are able to be the switch point in someone’s life.
Youth Futures
Youth Futures provides safe shelter, collaborative resources, respectful guidance and diverse support to homeless, unaccompanied, runaway and at-risk youth in both northern and southern Utah. They offer overnight shelter, drop-in services allowing youth to access food, clothing, hygiene items, laundry facilities, computer stations, and case
Washington County School District Foundation
The purpose of the Washington County School District Foundation is to enhance the quality of education of the students of Washington County by providing the resources necessary through private funding that are not provided through the traditional sources.
The students they serve are the future leaders of our communities, our state, and our country. They may be our doctor, our lawyer, our home builder or our grocery store manager. Whatever their dream is, the foundation can help them accomplish it.
Washington County Children's Justice Center
The Washington County Children’s Justice Center is a homelike, child-friendly facility where children who have been victims of abuse or other crimes can begin the road to healing.
We work with our multidisciplinary partners to protect each child, advance justice, promote healing, and educate our community. Our services include child forensic interviews, victim advocacy, medical services, mental health services, and community outreach.
If our students are given a more enriched education and are learning stronger skills, they will help our country remain strong. We invite you to help us with this effort. Your donation to any of the foundation's programs will assist them in helping our students and teachers.
